a trip down the stairs:

I am officially a clutz! That's not the correct spelling, but I like it:) Anyway, yesterday was really rainy (surprise). We have a wood deck patio out back and I was walking with really old flip flops with a stack of phone books down the stairs of the deck to the recycling bin. My really old flip flops have no traction whatsoever. My foot slipped right out from under me at the second step and I landed really hard with my tail bone on one corner of the stairs and my back on one step up. It was one of those movie scenes where all the books when up in the air EVERYWHERE!!! It hurt so incredibly bad, knocked the breath out of me for like 2 minutes...okay maybe like 30 seconds, but it felt like forever. Now i have a stair shaped bruise on my tail bone and i can only sit on my right butt cheek. My right butt cheek is getting very tired and very sore:) And now my back is more messed up then I could have imagined.

LIFE...

Life has been so busy these past couple weeks. I've just recently moved to Oregon from Indiana. I then moved from a house in Portland to a house in Gresham with my family. Gresham is to Portland and Mishawaka is to South Bend (right beside each other). I love the house in Gresham. I wish I had some pictures on here. I'm going to have to work that out somehow. We've had two guests from Japan at our house already. That was awesome. We also are applying for a foreign exchange student who desperately needs a home for the remainder of the school year.

I have a job as the Faculty Office Assistant at Warner Pacific College. It's an amazing school that constantly challenges students and asks the hard questions! I love it. I'm not even a student there and I've learned so much. The have lectures there that anyone can attend and I actually get paid to attend, for the potential bettering of me at my job. I also get paid to do missions trips. That is a great opportunity that I hope to take advantage of!!

I've already made a trip back to Indiana for a wedding. A wonderful wedding, with my best friend as the bride. I am so happy for her. I'm downloading some pictures soon so keep a look out for them. It was a great week. Stressful, but good! I'm finally catching up from the lack of sleep, time zone difference, stress, and everything. I'll write more about that later.

My mom and I hosted a dinner tonight at our house for all the 20-30 year olds from the Church of God churches around the area. We had 14 people come. It was an awesome evening of socialization, good eats, great games. I am sitting here with a huge smile on my face because of all the wonderful people I met tonight!! I think it's a great start to some really good friendships, at least a good foundation!

And that brings you all up to date, without going into a ton of detail. I knew I had to start somewhere so here it is. Maybe this will make it easier for me to blog little by little. I felt like I had so much to say and didn't know how to write it out. But know I just go day by day! I can do that^_^

The Changing Seasons of Life

In the bulb there is a flower; in the seed, an apple tree;
In cocoons, a hidden promise: butterflies will soon be free!
In the cold and snow of winter there’s a spring that waits to be,
Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

There’s a song in every silence, seeking word and melody;
There’s a dawn in every darkness, bringing hope to you and me.
From the past will come the future; what it holds, a mystery,
Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

In our end is our beginning; in our time, infinity;
In our doubt there is believing; in our life, eternity,
In our death, a resurrection; at the last, a victory,
Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.

you know you're getting old when none of the youth in your youth group know who Ross Perot is!!!!!!! We were playing a game where you have to get your team to say the word on your screen and one of my kids says outloud "Who's Ross Perot (with a 't' on the end)?" i just started laughing and no one knew why i was laughing. YIKES!!!!!!
